WSU Begins Service With New Truck Minimize

WSU entered a new era yesterday as delivery service with WSU’s own commercial truck began. The company plans to transport product and equipment to various customers and storage locations throughout their served market.

On the outside, the new vehicle sports the company’s logo and website address against the familiar white background. On the inside, a Caterpillar powered diesel engine moves the Freightliner body.

The move to a larger commercial vehicle will allow WSU to deliver more product per trip to a growing customer base. "In the medium and long-term, this truck will serve our customers better by improving our logistical efficiency", says Scott Stanley, Vice-President of Water Solutions Unlimited, Inc. In the near term, "We don’t want to look like a bunch of rookies", adds Mike Ladyman, commercial driver for WSU.

Third party commercial deliveries may become a thing of the past as WSU expects to deliver products to warehouses more often with less lead time. Although the new truck will handle the bulk of the transportation efforts, WSU plans to continue using their smaller box truck, which has served them well for many years. "We recognize that some deliveries require a smaller vehicle. We now have the ability to choose the best option for bringing product to our customers, and exploit efficiencies that weren’t available before" says Stanley.
